THE SAMPLED TEAM ALL REVIEW A MELANIE GRANT FACIAL

MELANIE GRANT SKIN

MELANIE GRANT SKIN

As Australia’s most highly regarded skin therapists, Melanie Grant and her team are loved by models, celebrities and beauty editors alike. Her facials are regarded as the best money can buy (which do come at an elevated price tag) and clientele includes both local and international A-list style leaders including Victoria Beckham, Lara Worthington, Nicole Warne, Phoebe Tonkin and Caroline de Maigret. Just last week, Melanie Grant ‘christened’ her new Melrose Place salon in Los Angeles with Karolina Kurkova’s pre-Vanity Fair party facial. Chic.

So, last month we took a team excursion and one-by-one had the full Melanie Grant Skin Experience.

SAMPLEDBY_ASHLEY - Microdermabrasion + Red Light Facial

What was your skincare concern going in and what facial did you ask for?
Being the oily skinned angel I am, I felt like going for a microdermabrasion facial as it was what my skin was whispering for. I’m always quite hydrated and never suffer from dryness, but on occasion I have skin congestion and breakout issues.

So going in, I was all about getting my congestion cleared up and was hoping for an overall increase in brightness too.

What was your treatment/facial experience like?
The facial itself and the team at MG were fantastic, I really felt like my skin was getting a luxurious treat and being tended too expertly.

The micro part wizzed by quickly and was much less abrasive than I have had with other facials in the past. Lovely smelling and feeling masks were then added, followed by red LED treatment.

What results did you see/ how did you skin feel post facial?
Directly post and the week following, I had a few little tiny spots all over my face and neck, but this is a normal reaction after getting micro done. This facial however this was the fastest turnaround to results I’ve had after a micro. I feel that the deeply hydrating masks and red light after really aided in my skins quick recovery as my skin is certainly feeling brighter and very well hydrated. Time will tell on the congestion, but so far so good.

SAMPLEDBY_BRIDIE - Brightening Facial

What was your skincare concern going in and what facial did you ask for?
I went into Melanie Grant with an open mind, happy for my therapist to take the lead and let me know what my skin needed. She suggested a brightening facial as she noted that micro may be a bit much for my sensitive skin. I had a couple of blind pimples attempting to head and some red pigmentation on my cheeks so these were my main concerns.

The below description of the Brightening Facial I copied straight from Melanie Grant, who explains the facial far better than I could give justice to:

Brightening Facial - Ideal for those concerned with uneven skin tone or lacklustre complexions. The Essential Brightening Facial unifies the skin tone and illuminates the complexion. Custom AHA peels, a sonophoresis infusion of potent Vitamin C and a concentrated brightening mask work cohesively to address signs of dullness, photoaging and fatigue in the skin. The skin is then enclosed in a firming collagen mask that delivers radiance-promoting hydration to the skin.

What was your treatment/facial experience like?

Luxurious. Although, this isn’t the type of facial you want to fall asleep in. I was talking to the therapist for most of the experience, except for the mask at the end, absorbing equal parts serums and skincare advice.

The interiors alone are an experience. We were greeted with sparkling water in the waiting room which had a chic array of international magazines, the latest Louis Vuitton runway played on a screen in front of the bed in the treatment room, a black and white Christy Turlington looked over the bed with a large mirror opposite running down the side of the room. The basin was skilfully curated with Chanel perfumes and Melanie Grant stocked skincare. I was in heaven.

While waiting for the mask to do it’s magic, I was given a shoulder and arm massage which could put any day spa to shame. I left the facial floating on a relaxation and self care high.

What results did you see/ how did you skin feel post facial?
Post-facial, my skin felt glowy and beautiful but it wasn’t until the following day that I really noticed results. The following two weeks after the facial, my skin was the best it had ever looked since I hit puberty. I had friends mentioning how great my skin looked completely out of the blue. I had the confidence to go completely foundation and concealer free. The blind pimples I was worried about faded into obscurity. It made me realise that no matter how many highly potent skincare products I try soak my skin in at home, nothing can truly compare to an in-salon facial with the safe hands and experience of a skincare expert.

SAMPLEDBY_ROSE - Custom Skin Health Facial

What was your skincare concern going in and what facial did you ask for?
Fine Lines, Pigmentation and milia. I requested for the customised facial as I strongly believe in the advice and expertise of credible beauty therapists. I wanted to know what they thought my skin needed and to see whether there was anything else I should be aware of.

What was your treatment/facial experience like?
The facial was sublime. I haven’t been for a facial in a couple of years and I forgot how relaxing & therapeutic it is… and I also realised how much my skin needed it! There were several masks, a peel, microdermabrasion, light therapy, a massage… It was heaven.

What results did you see/ how did you skin feel post facial?
After the facial I felt like I had new fresh skin, my skin was firmer, glowing and 100x more hydrated. It’s made me feel like I need to look after and protect my skin more to maintain the results I experienced after the facial.

SAMPLEDBY_CRIMSON

What was your skincare concern going in and what facial did you ask for?

The facial I booked was the Melanie Grant Signature Brightening Facial.

Ideal for those concerned with uneven skin tone or lacklustre complexions. The Essential Brightening Facial included:

  • Custom AHA peels

  • A sonophoresis infusion of potent Vitamin C

  • Concentrated brightening mask

  • Firming collagen mask that delivers radiance-promoting hydration to the skin

My main skincare concern was mild hormonal melasma and the desire for overall brighter skin & glow.

What was your treatment/facial experience like?

From the moment I stepped foot inside Melanie Grant, I felt clean and fancy. Two things I felt like I had somewhat of a handle on until meeting my match - the celebrity facialist’s stunning Potts Point clinic.

The radiant beauty therapist, doubling as receptionist helped provide the complete ‘Melanie’ experience that I’d heard whispers of from Sydney’s beauty elite.

Void of the essential oil diffusers and lavender scented heat packs that seem to linger in the background of most facial clinics, my treatment room was stylish and pared back with a lust-worthy selection of Melanie’s signature products lining the basin.

Beginning with a thorough double cleanse and facial steam to ensure my skin was ready for what was to come, the 1 hour facial kicked off with a customised AHA peel, followed by an oddly scented potent vitamin C mixture. No lie – it smelt like smoked bacon. All in the name of beauty, right?

The remainder of my facial consisted of a mixture of cream and sheet masks and a deep facial massage paired with a neck, shoulder and arm massage.

My facialist’s faultless service matched her in-depth beauty know-how with an obvious focus on results made my overall experience extremely enjoyable.

What results did you see/ how did you skin feel post facial?

As soon as my beauty therapist left the room, I sat up and checked out my face in the conveniently located mirrored walls that surrounded my facial bed.

I. Was. Glowing.

Venturing out to lunch afterwards, I didn’t feel the need to cover any spots or dark circles, my face was brighter and much more radiant.

As a longstanding Melanie Grant admirer from afar, I can now truly attest to the hype.
